حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلٌ عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ أَحَبَّ النَّاسِ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَأَقْرَبَهُمْ مِنْهُ مَجْلِسًا إِمَامٌ عَادِلٌ وَإِنَّ أَبْغَضَ النَّاسِ إِلَى اللَّهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَأَشَدَّهُ عَذَابًا إِمَامٌ جَائِرٌ.
English Translation
Yahya ibn Adam told us: Fudayl told us, from 'Atiyyah, from Abu Sa'id, who said: The Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed the most beloved of people to God, Mighty and Majestic, on the Day of Resurrection, and the closest of them to Him in sitting, is a just ruler; and indeed the most hateful of people to God on the Day of Resurrection, and the severest of them in punishment, is a tyrannical ruler."
