English Translation
Ahmad Abu Salih told us, Muhammad ibn Muslim - meaning Ibn Abi al-Waddah, Abu Sa'id the tutor - told us, in Dhu al-Qa'dah of the year seventy, and he mentioned a hadith, and mentioned this from Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Alqamah, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When a man gives charity from good, lawful earnings - and Allah accepts only what is good - it falls into the hand of Allah, and He nurtures it for him as one of you nurtures his young foal or weaned camel-calf, until it returns to him grown like a mountain."
