603/779 عن عبد الله[ هو ابن مسعود]قال:" إذا طلب أحدكم الحاجة فليطلبها طلباً يسيراً ؛ فإنما له ما قدر له، ولا يأتي أحدكم صاحبه فيمدحه، فيقطع ظهره".
English Translation
Abdullah (ibn Mas'ud) said: 'When any of you seeks something he needs, let him ask gently, for he will only receive what is decreed for him. And let none of you come to his companion and praise him, thereby breaking his back.'
