602/778 عن أبي هريرة: جاء رجل إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: يا رسول الله! أي الصدقة أفضل أجراً؟ قال:"أما وأبيك لتنبأنه: أن تصدق وأنت صحيح شحيح تخشى الفقر، وتأمل الغنى، ولا تمهل حتى إذا بلغت الحلقوم، قلت: لفلان كذا، ولفلان كذا، وقد كان لفلان".
English Translation
Abu Hurayrah reported: A man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and asked: O Messenger of Allah, which charity has the greatest reward? He said: 'By your father, you will be told: that you give charity while you are healthy and covetous, fearing poverty and hoping for wealth. Do not delay until the soul reaches the throat, and then you say: Give so-and-so such and such, and give so-and-so such and such — when it already belongs to so-and-so.'
