Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ - أُرَاهُ رَفَعَهُ - قَالَ " لاَ غِرَارَ فِي تَسْلِيمٍ وَلاَ صَلاَةٍ " . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَرَوَاهُ ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَلَى لَفْظِ ابْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ .
English Translation
Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates — I believe he traced it to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) — he said: 'There is no ghirar (deception/deficiency) in greeting or in prayer.' Abu Dawud said: Ibn Fudayl narrated it in the words of Ibn Mahdi but did not trace it to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں — میرا گمان ہے کہ انہوں نے اسے مرفوع بیان کیا — ارشاد فرمایا: نہ سلام میں دھوکا ہے نہ نماز میں۔ ابوداود فرماتے ہیں: ابنِ فضیل نے اسے ابنِ مہدی کے الفاظ پر روایت کیا ہے مگر مرفوع نہیں کیا۔
