حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُحَادَةَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يَقُومُ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الأُولَى مِنْ صَلاَةِ الظُّهْرِ حَتَّى لاَ يَسْمَعَ وَقْعَ قَدَمٍ .
English Translation
Hadrat Abdullah ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) would stand in the first rak'ah of the Zuhr prayer so long that no footsteps could be heard (i.e., he would recite for so long that all those coming to pray had arrived).
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن ابی اوفیٰ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ظہر کی پہلی رکعت میں اتنی دیر کھڑے رہتے کہ (آنے والے کے) قدم کی آہٹ نہ سنائی دیتی (یعنی اتنی لمبی قراءت فرماتے کہ سب آنے والے آ جاتے)۔
