Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ صُهْبَانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ، قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنِ الْخَذْفِ قَالَ " إِنَّهُ لاَ يَصِيدُ صَيْدًا وَلاَ يَنْكَأُ عَدُوًّا وَإِنَّمَا يَفْقَأُ الْعَيْنَ وَيَكْسِرُ السِّنَّ " .
English Translation
Hadrat 'Abdullah ibn Mughaffal (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) forbade throwing pebbles (with the finger) and stated: It does not hunt any game, nor does it harm an enemy. Rather, it puts out an eye and breaks a tooth.
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن مغفل رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے کنکری مارنے (خذف) سے منع فرمایا اور ارشاد فرمایا: یہ نہ شکار مارتا ہے، نہ دشمن کو نقصان پہنچاتا ہے، بلکہ یہ آنکھ پھوڑ دیتا ہے اور دانت توڑ دیتا ہے۔
