Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو التَّيَّاحِ، عَنْ صَخْرِ بْنِ بَدْرٍ الْعِجْلِيِّ، عَنْ سُبَيْعِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدْ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَلِيفَةً فَاهْرَبْ حَتَّى تَمُوتَ فَإِنْ تَمُتْ وَأَنْتَ عَاضٌّ " . وَقَالَ فِي آخِرِهِ قَالَ قُلْتُ فَمَا يَكُونُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ قَالَ " لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلاً نَتَجَ فَرَسًا لَمْ تُنْتَجْ حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ " .
English Translation
This tradition is also narrated from Hadrat Hudhayfah (may Allah be well pleased with him) through a different chain of narrators, attributed to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). In this version he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: If you do not find a caliph in those days, then flee until you die, even if you die biting the root of a tree. And at the end of this version it states: I submitted: What will come after that? He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: If a man wishes his mare to foal, it will not foal before the Hour comes.
Urdu Translation
اس سند سے بھی حضرت حذیفہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے یہی حدیث نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے مرفوعاً مروی ہے۔ اس میں ہے کہ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: اگر ان دنوں میں تمہیں کوئی خلیفہ نہ ملے تو بھاگ جاؤ یہاں تک کہ تم مر جاؤ خواہ درخت کی جڑ کاٹ کر کھاتے مرو۔ اور اس کے آخر میں ہے کہ میں نے عرض کیا: پھر اس کے بعد کیا ہو گا؟ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: اگر کسی شخص کی گھوڑی بچہ جننے والی ہو تو وہ اس وقت تک نہ جنے گی جب تک قیامت نہ آ جائے۔
