حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، وَاللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ الأَشَجِّ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " مَنْ أَعْتَقَ عَبْدًا وَلَهُ مَالٌ فَمَالُ الْعَبْدِ لَهُ إِلاَّ أَنْ يَشْتَرِطَهُ السَّيِّدُ " .
English Translation
Hadrat Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) states that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: Whoever emancipates a slave while the slave possesses property, the property of the slave belongs to the emancipator — unless the master stipulates (at the time of emancipation that the property shall remain with the slave).
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: جس نے کسی غلام کو آزاد کیا اور غلام کے پاس مال ہو تو غلام کا مال آزاد کرنے والے (مالک) کا ہے، الا یہ کہ مالک (آزاد کرتے وقت) یہ شرط لگائے (کہ مال غلام ہی کا رہے گا)۔
