Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ النَّاسَ يُضْرَبُونَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا اشْتَرَوُا الطَّعَامَ جُزَافًا أَنْ يَبِيعُوهُ حَتَّى يُبْلِغَهُ إِلَى رَحْلِهِ .
English Translation
It is narrated from Hadrat Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) who said: I saw people during the time of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) being beaten when they bought grain in bulk, (so that they would) not sell it until they had moved it to their quarters.
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے مروی ہے، فرماتے ہیں: میں نے عہدِ رسالت مآب صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم میں لوگوں کو دیکھا کہ جب وہ جزاف (اندازے سے) غلّہ خریدتے تو اُنہیں مارا جاتا (تاکہ) وہ اُسے بیچ نہ دیں جب تک اپنے ٹھکانے تک نہ پہنچا لیں۔
