حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ - عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ نَنْطَلِقَ إِلَى أَرْضِ النَّجَاشِيِّ فَذَكَرَ حَدِيثَهُ قَالَ النَّجَاشِيُّ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَأَنَّهُ الَّذِي بَشَّرَ بِهِ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَلَوْلاَ مَا أَنَا فِيهِ مِنَ الْمُلْكِ لأَتَيْتُهُ حَتَّى أَحْمِلَ نَعْلَيْهِ .
English Translation
Hadrat Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) commanded us to proceed to the land of the Negus — then the hadith is mentioned. The Negus said: I bear witness that he (Muhammad, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) is the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), and he is the one about whom Hadrat Isa ibn Maryam (upon him be peace) gave glad tidings. Were I not bound by the affairs of my kingdom, I would have come to him and carried his sandals.
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ہمیں سرزمینِ نجاشی کی طرف جانے کا حکم فرمایا — پھر ان کی حدیث کا ذکر ہے۔ نجاشی نے کہا: میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ وہ (محمد صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اللہ کے رسول ہیں اور وہ وہی ہیں جن کی بشارت حضرت عیسیٰ بن مریم علیہ السلام نے دی تھی۔ اگر میں سلطنت کے بندھنوں میں نہ ہوتا تو میں خود ان کے پاس حاضر ہوتا اور ان کی جوتیاں اٹھاتا۔
