حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ نُبَيْحٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ كُنَّا حَمَلْنَا الْقَتْلَى يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ لِنَدْفِنَهُمْ فَجَاءَ مُنَادِي النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تَدْفِنُوا الْقَتْلَى فِي مَضَاجِعِهِمْ فَرَدَدْنَاهُمْ .
English Translation
Hadrat Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrated: We had carried the slain of Uhud to bury them (in Madinah), when a caller of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) came and said: Indeed, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) commands you to bury the slain in the places where they fell. So we returned them.
Urdu Translation
حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں: ہم نے اُحد کے شہداء کو اٹھایا تاکہ (مدینہ لا کر) دفنائیں، تو نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کا ایک منادی آیا اور کہا: بے شک رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم تمہیں حکم دیتے ہیں کہ شہداء کو ان کے (شہادت کے) مقامات پر ہی دفناؤ۔ تو ہم انہیں واپس لے گئے۔
