حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ إِنَّ أَزْوَاجَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم حِينَ تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَرَدْنَ أَنْ يَبْعَثْنَ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ فَيَسْأَلْنَهُ ثُمُنَهُنَّ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَتْ لَهُنَّ عَائِشَةُ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " لاَ نُورَثُ مَا تَرَكْنَا فَهُوَ صَدَقَةٌ " .
English Translation
Ummul Mu'minin Hadrat ' Aishah (may Allah be well pleased with her) narrates that the pure wives of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), when the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) passed away, intended to send Hadrat ' Uthman bin 'Affan (may Allah be well pleased with him) to Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be well pleased with him) to ask for their one-eighth share (as inheritance) from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). Hadrat ' Aishah (may Allah be well pleased with her) said to them: Did the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) not state: 'We (Prophets) are not inherited from; whatever we leave behind is charity'?
Urdu Translation
حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا فرماتی ہیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی ازواجِ مطہرات نے جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کا وصال ہوا تو ارادہ کیا کہ حضرت عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے پاس بھیجیں تاکہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے اپنا آٹھواں حصہ (بطور وراثت) مانگیں۔ حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے ان سے فرمایا: کیا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد نہیں فرمایا تھا: ہمارا ورثہ نہیں ہوتا، جو ہم چھوڑ جائیں وہ صدقہ ہے؟
