حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ، - يَعْنِي الإِسْكَنْدَرَانِيَّ الْقَارِيَّ - عَنْ عَمْرٍو، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " صَيْدُ الْبَرِّ لَكُمْ حَلاَلٌ مَا لَمْ تَصِيدُوهُ أَوْ يُصَدْ لَكُمْ " . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ إِذَا تَنَازَعَ الْخَبَرَانِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُنْظَرُ بِمَا أَخَذَ بِهِ أَصْحَابُهُ .
English Translation
Hadrat Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be well pleased with them both) said: I heard the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say: The game of the land is lawful for you (while in ihram) as long as you do not hunt it yourselves or have it hunted on your behalf. Abu Dawud (upon him be mercy) said: When two traditions from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) conflict, one should examine which of them was acted upon by his noble Companions (may Allah be well pleased with them all).
Urdu Translation
حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو ارشاد فرماتے سنا: خشکی کا شکار تمہارے لیے حلال ہے جب تک تم خود اسے شکار نہ کرو یا تمہارے لیے شکار نہ کیا جائے۔ حضرت ابوداؤد فرماتے ہیں: جب نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے دو احادیث باہم متعارض ہوں تو دیکھا جائے گا کہ صحابۂ کرام رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہم کا عمل کس کے مطابق تھا۔
