حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ يَزِيدَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " اسْمُ اللَّهِ الأَعْظَمُ فِي هَاتَيْنِ الآيَتَيْنِ { وَإِلَهُكُمْ إِلَهٌ وَاحِدٌ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الرَّحْمَنُ الرَّحِيمُ } وَفَاتِحَةُ سُورَةِ آلِ عِمْرَانَ { الم * اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَىُّ الْقَيُّومُ } .
English Translation
Hadrat Asma' bint Yazid (may Allah be well pleased with her) narrates that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'The Greatest Name of Allah (Ism al-A'zam) is in these two verses: "And your God is One God, there is no god but He, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful" and the opening of Surah Al 'Imran: "Alif Lam Mim. Allah, there is no god but He, the Living, the Self-Subsisting."'
Urdu Translation
حضرت اسماء بنت یزید رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اللہ کا اسمِ اعظم ان دو آیتوں میں ہے — 'وَإِلَهُكُمْ إِلَهٌ وَاحِدٌ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الرَّحْمَنُ الرَّحِيمُ' — اور سورۃ آل عمران کی ابتدا — 'الم * اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ'۔
