Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9805 حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَوْضِيُّ قَالَا ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ الْعَيْزَارِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيَّ حَدَّثَنِي صَاحِبُ هَذِهِ الدَّارِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللهِ؟ أَوْ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللهِ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَيٌّ؟ قَالَ «بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَيٌّ؟ قَالَ «ثُمَّ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ» وَلَوِ اسْتَزَدْتُهُ لَزَادَنِي
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Umar ibn Hafs al-Sadusi and Abu Khalifah narrated to us, from Asim ibn Ali and Hafs ibn Umar al-Hawdi respectively, from Shu'bah, from al-Walid ibn al-'Ayzar who said: I heard Abu Amr al-Shaybani say: The owner of this house - meaning Ibn Mas'ud - told me: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): 'Which deeds are most beloved to Allah?' He said: 'Prayer at its time.' I said: 'Then which?' He said: 'Dutifulness to parents.' I said: 'Then which?' He said: 'Then jihad in the cause of Allah.' And had I asked him for more, he would have given me more.
