Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9510 حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ وَاصِلٍ الْأَحْدَبِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ جَاءَ حُذَيْفَةُ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ فَقَالَ أَلَا أُعَجِّبُكَ مِنْ نَاسٍ عُكُوفٍ بَيْنَ دَارِكَ وَبَيْنَ دَارِ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ؟ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ «فَلَعَلَّهُمْ أَصَابُوا وَأَخْطَأْتَ» قَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ مَا أُبَالِي أَفِيهِ أَعْتَكِفُ أَمْ فِي سُوقِكُمْ هَذِهِ وَإِنَّمَا الِاعْتِكَافُ فِي هَذِهِ الْمَسَاجِدِ الثَّلَاثَةِ مَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَمَسْجِدِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَمَسْجِدِ الْأَقْصَى وَكَانَ الَّذِينَ اعْتَكَفُوا فَعَابَ عَلَيْهِمْ حُذَيْفَةُ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْكُوفَةِ الْأَكْبَرِ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Hudhayfah came to Abdullah and said: 'Shall I amaze you with people secluded between your house and the house of al-Ash'ari?' Abdullah said: 'Perhaps they are right and you are wrong.' Hudhayfah said: 'I do not care whether I perform i'tikaf in it or in your marketplace. I'tikaf is only in these three mosques: the Sacred Mosque, the Mosque of Madinah, and al-Aqsa Mosque.' Those who performed i'tikaf and whom Hudhayfah criticized were in the grand mosque of Kufa.
