Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9180 حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا دَلْهَمُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الثَّقَفِيُّ أَنَّ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنَ قَيْسٍ اسْتَقْرَضَ مِنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَلْفَ دِرْهَمٍ فَأَقْرَضَهُ إِيَّاهَا فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ الْعَطَاءُ جَاءَهُ بِأَلْفِ دِرْهَمٍ فَقَالَ هَذَا مَالُكَ قَالَ «هَاتِهِ» فَأَخَذَهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ عَبْدُ اللهِ «لَوْلَا كَرَاهِيَةُ أَنْ أُخَالِفَكَ لَأَمْسَكْتُ الْمَالَ» فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ «نَحْنُ أَحَقُّ بِهِ» فَجَلَسَ يَتَحَدَّثُ سَاعَةً ثُمَّ قَامَ فَانْطَلَقَ عَلْقَمَةُ فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَصْحَابَ التَّوَابِيت�� أَرْسَلَ عَلَى أَثَرِهِ فَرَدَّهُ فَقَالَ «مُحْتَاجٌ أَنْتَ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «خُذِ الْمَالَ» فَلَمَّا أَخَذَهُ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ «لَأَنْ أُقْرِضَ مَالًا مَرَّتَيْنِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَتَصَدَّقَ بِهِ مَرَّةً»
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Alqamah ibn Qays borrowed a thousand dirhams from Abdullah, who lent it to him. When the stipend was distributed, Alqamah brought him a thousand dirhams and said: 'This is your money.' Abdullah said: 'Give it here.' He took it and said: 'Were it not that I dislike contradicting you, I would have kept the money.' Abdullah said: 'We are more entitled to it.' Alqamah sat and conversed for a while, then got up to leave. When he reached the coffin-makers, Abdullah sent someone after him to bring him back and said: 'Are you in need?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Take the money.' When he took it, Abdullah said: 'To lend money twice is more beloved to me than to give it in charity once.'
