Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:8051a حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الضَّبِّيُّ ثنا أَبُو شِهَابٍ عَبْدُ رَبِّهِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْمُلَائِيِّ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ السُّلَيْكِ عَنْ أَبِي غَالِبٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ بِدِمَشْقَ زَمَنَ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ فَأُتِيَ برُءُوسِ الْخَوَارِجِ فَنُصِبَتْ عَلَى أَعْوَادٍ فَجِئْتُ لِأَنْظُرَ هَلْ فِيهَا أَحَدٌ أَعْرِفُهُ؟ فَإِذَا أَبُو أُمَامَةَ عِنْدَهَا فَدَنَوْتُ مِنْهُ فَنَظَرْتُ إِلَى الْأَعْوَادِ فَقَالَ «كِلَابُ النَّارِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ شَرُّ قَتْلَى تَحْتَ أَدِيمِ السَّمَاءِ وَمَنْ قَتَلُوهُ خَيْرُ قَتْلَى تَحْتَ أَدِيمِ السَّمَاءِ» قَالَهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَبْكَى فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا أُمَامَةَ مَا يُبْكِيكَ؟ كَانُوا عَلَى دِينِنَا ثُمَّ ذَكَرْتُ مَا هُمْ صَائِرُونَ إِلَيْهِ غَدًا فَقُلْتُ لَهُ شَيْئًا تَقُولُهُ بِرَأْيِكَ أَمْ شَيْئًا سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَ «إِنِّي لَوْ لَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَّا مَرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا إِلَى السَّبْعِ مَا حَدَّثْتُكُمُوهُ أَمَا تَقْرَأُ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ فِي آلِ عِمْرَانَ» {يَوْمَ تَبْيَضُّ وُجُوهٌ وَتَسْوَدُّ وُجُوهٌ} إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ {وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ ابْيَضَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ فَفِي رَحْمَةِ اللهِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ}
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abu Ghalib said: I was in Damascus during the time of 'Abd al-Malik when the heads of the Kharijites were brought and placed on stakes. I came to look whether I recognized anyone among them, and Abu Umamah was there. I drew close to him. He looked at the stakes and said: "Dogs of the Fire" - three times - "the worst of those killed under the sky, and whoever they killed is the best of those killed under the sky" - three times. Then he wept. I said: "O Abu Umamah, what makes you weep?" [He said]: They were upon our religion, then I remembered what they will face tomorrow. I said to him: "Is this something you say from your opinion or something you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)?" He said: "Had I not heard it from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) except once, twice, or three times - up to seven - I would not have narrated it to you. Do you not recite this verse in Al 'Imran: {On the Day when some faces will turn white and some faces will turn black} to the end of the verse: {And as for those whose faces turn white, they will be in the mercy of Allah, therein they shall abide forever}."
