Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:3488 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ افْتَخَرَ الْحَيَّانِ الْأَوْسُ وَالْخَزْرَجُ فَقَالَ الْأَوْسُ مِنَّا أَرْبَعَةٌ وَقَالَ الْخَزْرَجُ مِنَّا أَرْبَعَةٌ قَالَ الْأَوْسُ مِنَّا مَنِ اهْتَزَّ لَهُ عَرْشُ الرَّحْمَنِ سَعْدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ وَمِنَّا مَنْ عَدَلَتْ شَهَادَتُهُ بِشَهَادَةِ رَجُلَيْنِ خُزَيْمَةُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ وَمِنَّا مَنْ غَسَّلَتْهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ حَنْظَلَةُ بْنُ الرَّاهِبِ وَمِنَّا مَنْ حَمَى لَحْمَهُ الدَّبْرُ عَاصِمُ بْنُ ثَابِتِ بْنِ الْأَفْلَحِ وَقَالَ الْخَزْرَجُ مِنَّا أَرْبَعَةٌ جَمَعُوا الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَمْ يَجْمَعْهُ غَيْرُهُمْ أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ وَمُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ وَزَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ وَأَبُو زَيْدٍ قُلْتُ لِأَنَسٍ مَنْ أَبُو زَيْدٍ؟ قَالَ «أَحَدُ عُمُومَتِي»

Narrated Anas: The two clans, al-Aws and al-Khazraj, boasted to each other. Al-Aws said, 'From us are four,' and al-Khazraj said, 'From us are four.' Al-Aws said, 'From us is the one for whom the Throne of the Most Merciful shook: Sa'd ibn Mu'adh. From us is the one whose testimony equals that of two men: Khuzaymah ibn Thabit. From us is the one whom the angels washed: Handhala ibn al-Rahib. And from us is the one whose flesh was protected by wasps: Asim ibn Thabit ibn al-Aflah.' Al-Khazraj said, 'From us are four who collected the entire Quran during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah, and no one else collected it: Ubayy ibn Ka'b, Mu'adh ibn Jabal, Zayd ibn Thabit, and Abu Zayd.' I asked Anas, 'Who is Abu Zayd?' He said, 'One of my uncles.'
