وعن ابن مسعود، رضي الله عنه قال: قلت يا رسول الله أي العمل أحب إلى الله تعالى؟ قال: "الصلاة على وقتها" قلت: ثم أي؟ قال: "بر الوالدين" قلت ثم أي: قال: "الجهاد في سبيل الله" ((متفق عليه))
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Hadrat Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that I asked the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him): "Which action is dearest to Allah?" He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) replied, "Performing As-Salat (the prayer) at its earliest fixed time." I asked, "What is next (in goodness)?" He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said, "Kindness towards parents." I asked, "What is next (in goodness)?" He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said, "To participate in Jihad in the Cause of Allah.".
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ میں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! اللہ تعالیٰ کو کون سا عمل سب سے زیادہ محبوب ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: نماز کو اس کے وقت پر ادا کرنا۔ میں نے عرض کیا: پھر کون سا؟ ارشاد فرمایا: والدین سے حسنِ سلوک۔ میں نے عرض کیا: پھر کون سا؟ ارشاد فرمایا: اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد۔ (متفق علیہ)
