Narrated Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): A man from Banu Udhrah freed his slave as a mudabbar (i.e., he said: You are free after my death). News of this reached the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and he (peace be upon him) said: "Do you have any wealth besides him?" He said: No. Then he (peace be upon him) announced: "Who will buy him from me?" So Nu'aym ibn Abdullah al-Adawi bought him for eight hundred dirhams and brought the dirhams to the Prophet (peace be upon him). He (peace be upon him) gave them to the slave's master, saying: "First spend on yourself; then if anything remains, on your family; then if anything remains, on your relatives; then if anything remains, here and there" — and he (peace be upon him) gestured forward and to the right and to the left (i.e., give it in charity). سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہبنوعذرہ کے ایک شخص نے اپنا غلام آزاد کیا مدبر بنا دیا (یعنی کہا کہ تو میرے مرنے کے بعد آزاد ہے)۔ اس کی خبر رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو پہنچی تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تیرے پاس اس کے سوا اور مال ہے؟ اس نے کہا کہ نہیں۔ تب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے (اعلان) فرمایا کہ اس کو مجھ سے کون خریدتا ہے؟ تو نعیم بن عبداللہ العدوی نے اسے آٹھ سو درہم میں خرید لیا اور درہم نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو لا کر دیئے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے غلام کے مالک کو اسے دیتے ہوئے فرمایا کہ پہلے اپنی ذات پر خرچ کرو۔ پھر اگر بچے تو اپنے گھر والوں پر، پھر بچے تو اپنے ناطے والوں پر، پھر بچے تو ادھر ادھر اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمآگے اور دائیں اور بائیں اشارہ کرتے تھے۔ (یعنی صدقہ کر دے)[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 883]
