Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to deliver the sermon standing on Friday. Once a caravan came from Syria (bringing grain), and the people rushed towards it, so that only twelve men remained with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). Upon this the verse in Surah al-Jumu'ah was revealed: "And when they see some merchandise or amusement, they rush towards it and leave you standing..." the complete verse. الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہنبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمجمعہ کے دن کھڑے ہو کر خطبہ ارشاد فرمایا کرتے تھے۔ سو ایک بار ملک شام سے (غلہ لے کر) ایک قافلہ آیا اور لوگ اس کے پاس دوڑ گئے، صرف بارہ آدمی آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس رہ گئے۔ اس پر یہ آیت اتری جو سورۃ الجمعہ میں ہے کہ”جب کوئی تجارت یا کوئی کھیل کی چیز دیکھتے ہیں تو اس طرف دوڑ کر جاتے ہیں اور تجھے کھڑا ہوا چھوڑ جاتے ہیں....“پوری آیت۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 415]
