Narrated Abdullah bin ash-Shikhkhir (may Allah be pleased with him): I came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) while he (peace be upon him) was reciting, "The desire for gaining more and more (wealth) has diverted you into destruction." He (peace be upon him) said, "Man says, 'My wealth, my wealth,' and O man! What is your wealth? Your wealth is only that which you have eaten and made to perish, or worn and made old, or given in charity and made lasting (sent forward for the Day of Resurrection)." الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا عبداللہ بن شخیر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمیں نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آیا اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمیہ پڑھ رہے تھے کہ”ہلاکت میں ڈال دیا تمہیں زیادہ سے زیادہ (مال) حاصل کرنے (کی خواہش) نے“۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ آدمی کہتا ہے کہ میرا مال، میرا مال، اور اے آدمی! تیرا مال کیا ہے؟ تیرا مال وہی ہے جو تو نے کھایا اور فنا کیا، یا پہنا اور پرانا کیا یا صدقہ دیا اور جاری کیا (قیامت کے لئے روانہ کیا)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2178]
