Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: There was a man from among our people, Banu al-Najjar, who had read Surah al-Baqarah and Al 'Imran, and he used to write (revelation) for the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). Then he fled and joined the People of the Book. They received him (that is, welcomed him) and said, "This man was the scribe of Muhammad (peace be upon him)." They rejoiced at his joining them. Then, within a few days, Allah caused him to die. So they dug a grave for him and buried him. In the morning they saw that his corpse was cast out. Then they dug a pit and buried him. Then in the morning they saw that his corpse was cast out. Then they dug a pit and buried him. Then in the morning they saw that the earth had thrown out his corpse. In the end they left it lying thus.
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہہماری قوم بنی نجار میں سے ایک شخص تھا جس نے سورۃ البقرہ اور آل عمران پڑھی تھیں اور وہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے لئے لکھا کرتا تھا۔ پھر وہ بھاگ گیا اور اہل کتاب سے مل گیا۔ انہوں نے اس کو اٹھایا (یعنی اس کی آؤ بھگت کی) اور کہنے لگے کہ یہ محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) کا منشی تھا۔ وہ لوگ اس کے مل جانے سے خوش ہوئے۔ پھر تھوڑے دنوں میں اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس کو ہلاک کیا تو انہوں نے اس کے لئے قبر کھودی اور دفنا دیا۔ صبح کو دیکھا تو اس کی لاش باہر پڑی ہے۔ پھر انہوں نے گڑھا کھودا اور اس کو دفن کر دیا۔ پھر صبح کو دیکھا تو اس کی لاش باہر پڑی ہے۔ پھر گڑھا کھود کر اس کو دفن کر دیا۔ پھر صبح کو دیکھا تو اس کی لاش کو زمین نے باہر پھینک دیا۔ آخر اس کو یونہی پڑا ہوا چھوڑ دیا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1945]
