Narrated Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) had an orphan girl who was called Umm Anas. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saw this girl and said, "Oh! That girl has grown up. May your age not grow long." Hearing this, the girl went weeping to Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her), and Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "Daughter, what is the matter with you?" She said, "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) invoked against me that my age should not grow long. Now I shall never grow up" — or she said, "that my peer should not grow up." Hearing this, Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) went out hurriedly, throwing on her head-covering, and met the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). He (peace be upon him) said, "What is it, Umm Sulaym?" She said, "O Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him)! Did you invoke against my orphan girl?" He (peace be upon him) asked, "What invocation?" She said, "She says that you (peace be upon him) said that her age, or her peer's, should not grow long." Hearing this, he (peace be upon him) smiled and said, "O Umm Sulaym! Do you not know the condition I made with my Lord? My condition is that I said, 'O Lord! I am but a human being; I am pleased as a man is pleased, and I become angry as a man becomes angry. So whomever of my Ummah I invoke against with an invocation that he does not deserve, make it for him a means of purification, cleansing, and nearness to You on the Day of Resurrection.'" And Abu Ma'n, in this hadith, in all three places, related "yutayyimah" (in the diminutive) instead of "yatimah."

سیدنا انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہسیدہ ام سلیم رضی اللہ عنہا کے پاس ایک یتیم لڑکی تھی، جس کو ام انس کہتے تھے۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اس لڑکی کو دیکھا تو فرمایا کہ! وہ لڑکی تو بڑی ہو گئی، اللہ کرے تیری عمر بڑی نہ ہو۔ وہ لڑکی یہ سن کر ام سلیم رضی اللہ عنہا کے پاس روتی ہوئی گئی تو ام سلیم رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ بیٹی تجھے کیا ہوا؟ وہ بولی کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے مجھ پر بددعا کی کہ میری عمر بڑی نہ ہو۔ اب میں کبھی بڑی نہ ہوں گی یا یہ فرمایا کہ تیری ہمجولی بڑی نہ ہو۔ یہ سن کر سیدہ ام سلیم رضی اللہ عنہا جلدی سے اپنی اوڑھنی اوڑھتی ہوئی نکلیں اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے ملیں تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ کیا ہے ام سلیم؟ وہ بولیں کہ اے اللہ کے نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! آپ نے میری یتیم لڑکی کو بددعا دی؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے پوچھا کہ کیا بددعا؟ وہ بولیں کہ وہ کہتی ہے کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اس کی یا اس کی ہمجولی کی عمردراز نہ ہو۔ یہ سن کر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلممسکرائے اور فرمایا کہ اے ام سلیم! تو نہیں جانتی کہ میں نے اپنے رب سے شرط کی ہے؟ میری شرط یہ ہے کہ میں نے عرض کیا کہ اے رب! میں ایک بشر ہوں اور خوش ہوتا ہوں جیسے آدمی خوش ہوتا ہے اور غصہ ہوتا ہوں جیسے آدمی غصہ ہوتا ہے، پس میں اپنی امت میں سے جس کسی پر بددعا کروں، ایسی بددعا جس کے وہ لائق نہیں تو اس کے لئے قیامت کے دن پاکی کرنا اور طہارت اور اپنا قرب عطا کرنا۔ اور ابومعن نے اس حدیث میں تینوں جگہ”یتیمۃ“کی بجائے”یتیّمۃ“تصغیر کے ساتھ بیان کیا ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1826]
