الترجمة الإنجليزية
It is narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "A man was going along a road in a state of great thirst when he found a well. He went down into it and drank water. Then he came out and saw a dog that (out of thirst) had put out its tongue and was panting and licking the moist earth. The man said, 'This dog's condition from thirst is just as my condition was.' Then he went down into the well and filled his shoe with water, and holding the shoe in his mouth he climbed up and gave that water to the dog to drink. So Allah the Exalted accepted this good deed of his and forgave him." The people submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Is there reward for us in feeding and watering these animals too?" He (peace be upon him) said, "In every living creature with a moist liver there is reward." (This he said because the body and liver of a dead animal become dry.)
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: ایک شخص راہ میں بہت پیاس کی حالت میں جا رہا تھا کہ اسے ایک کنواں ملا۔ وہ اس میں اترا اور پانی پی لیا۔ پھر نکلا تو ایک کتے کو دیکھا کہ اس نے (پیاس کی وجہ سے) اپنی زبان نکالی ہوئی ہے اور ہانپ رہا ہے اور گیلی مٹی چاٹ رہا ہے۔ وہ شخص بولا کہ اس کتے کا یہ حال پیاس کے مارے ویسا ہی ہے جیسا میرا حال تھا۔ پھر وہ کنوئیں میں اترا اور اپنے موزے میں پانی بھرا، اور موزہ منہ میں لے کر اوپر چڑھا اور وہ پانی کتے کو پلایا تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس کی یہ نیکی قبول کی اور اس کو بخش دیا۔ لوگوں نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! ہمیں ان جانوروں کو کھلانے اور پلانے میں بھی ثواب ہے؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ ہر تازے جگر والے میں ثواب ہے (یہ اس لئے کہا کہ مرے ہوئے حیوان کا جسم اور جگر خشک ہو جاتا ہے)[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1505]
