Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "A group of the Children of Israel disappeared; it was not known where it went. I think that group are the rats (having been transformed). Do you not see that when camel's milk is put out for rats they do not drink it, but when you put out goat's milk they drink it? (So the indication is that the rats are those people of the Children of Israel who were transformed, even if they did not survive, because in the law of the Children of Israel the meat of the camel and the milk of the camel were forbidden.)" Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I related this hadith to Ka'b, and he said, "Did you hear this from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)?" I said, "Yes." Then he asked several times, so I said, "Do I read the Torah? (that I would have obtained this narration by seeing it therein? All my knowledge is heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).)" In another narration it is that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "Is the Torah revealed to me (that I would read from it and tell you)?"
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: بنی اسرائیل کا ایک گروہ گم ہو گیا تھا، معلوم نہ ہوا کہ وہ کہاں گیا میں سمجھتا ہوں کہ وہ گروہ چوہے ہیں (مسخ ہو کر)۔ کیا تم نہیں دیکھتے کہ جب چوہوں کے لئے اونٹ کا دودھ رکھا جائے تو وہ نہیں پیتے اور جب بکری کا دودھ رکھو تو پی لیتے ہیں (گویا قرینہ یہ ہے کہ چوہے وہ بنی اسرائیل کے لوگ ہوں جو مسخ ہوئے تھے اگرچہ وہ زندہ نہ رہے ہوں اس لئے کہ بنی اسرائیل کی شریعت میں اونٹ کا گوشت اور اونٹ کا دودھ حرام تھا) سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ میں نے یہ حدیث سیدنا کعب سے بیان کی تو انہوں نے کہا کہ تم نے یہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنا ہے؟ میں نے کہا کہ ہاں۔ پھر انہوں نے کئی بار پوچھا، تو میں نے کہا کہ کیا میں تورات پڑھتا ہوں؟ (جو اس میں دیکھ کر یہ روایت میں نے حاصل کی ہو میرا تو سارا علم رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنا ہوا ہے) ایک دوسری روایت میں ہے کہ سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے جواب دیا کہ کیا مجھ پر تورات نازل ہوتی ہے (جس سے پڑھ کر میں تمہیں بتاتا ہوں)؟[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1504]
