Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: A short man with disheveled hair and a strong body, upon whom was a cloak and who had committed adultery, was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) turned his case away twice, then he gave the order and the man was stoned. After that, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "When we go out to fight in the way of Allah, one or another of you stays behind and bleats like a goat and gives a little milk to some woman. Indeed, if Allah gives me power over such a person, I will punish him so severely that it will be a lesson to others." The narrator said: I related this hadith to Sa'id bin Jubayr (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said that the Prophet (peace be upon him) turned his case away four times. And in one narration, two times or three times is mentioned. [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1038]
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا جابر بن سمرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس چھوٹے قد کا آدمی جس کے بال پراگندہ اور جسم مضبوط تھا، اس پر چادر تھی اور اس نے زنا کیا تھا، لایا گیا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے دو بار اس کی بات کو ٹالا پھر حکم کیا تو وہ سنگسار کیا گیا۔ اس کے بعد آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ جب ہم اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد کے لئے نکلتے ہیں تو تم میں سے کوئی نہ کوئی پیچھے رہ جاتا ہے اور بکرے کی طرح آواز کرتا ہے اور کسی عورت کو تھوڑا دودھ دیتا ہے۔ بیشک اللہ تعالیٰ میرے قابو میں ایسے شخص کو دے گا تو میں اس کو ایسی سخت سزا دوں گا جو دوسروں کے لئے نصیحت ہو۔ راوی نے کہا کہ میں نے یہ حدیث سیدنا سعید بن جبیر رضی اللہ عنہ سے بیان کی تو انہوں نے کہا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے چار بار اس کی بات کو ٹالا۔ اور ایک روایت میں دو دفعہ یا تین دفعہ کا ذکر ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1038]
