Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) obtained a piece of land in Khaybar, so he came to consult the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) about it and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have obtained land in Khaybar, and I have never obtained property as fine as it. What do you command concerning it?" He said: "If you wish, you may withhold ownership of the land (that is, the land itself) and give its (produce) in charity." So Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave it in charity on the condition that the land itself would not be sold, nor bought, nor inherited, nor gifted; and (its produce would go) to the poor, relatives, slaves (that is, to help free them), travelers, and the destitute; and whoever administered it could eat from it in a reasonable manner or feed a friend, but should not accumulate wealth (that is, not use it with the intention of hoarding money). سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کوخیبر میں ایک زمین ملی تو وہ اس بارے میں رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے مشورہ کرنے کو آئے اور کہا کہ یا رسول اللہ! مجھے خیبر میں ایک زمین ملی ہے اور ایسا عمدہ مال مجھے کبھی نہیں ملا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماس کے بارے میں کیا حکم کرتے ہیں؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”اگر تو چاہے تو زمین کی ملکیت کو روک رکھے (یعنی اصل زمین کو) اور اس (کی پیداوار) کا صدقہ کر دو۔“پھر سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے اس کو اس شرط پر صدقہ کیا کہ اصل زمین نہ بیچی جائے، نہ خریدی جائے، نہ وہ کسی کی میراث میں آئے اور نہ ہبہ کی جائے اور اس کو فقیروں اور رشتہ داروں اور غلاموں میں (یعنی ان کی آزادی میں مدد دینے کے لئے) اور مسافروں اور ناتواں لوگوں میں یا مہمان کی مہمانی میں اور جو کوئی اس کا انتظام کرے وہ اس میں سے دستور کے موافق کھائے یا کسی دوست کو کھلائے لیکن مال اکٹھا نہ کرے (یعنی روپیہ جوڑنے کی نیت سے اس میں تصرف نہ کرے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1000]
