Ahmad ibn Ali ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, he said: Abu Khaythamah Zuhayr ibn Harb narrated to us, he said: Jarir ibn Abd al-Hamid narrated to us, from 'Umarah ibn al-Qa'qa', from Abu Zur'ah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: A bowl of tharid and meat was placed before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He took the foreleg, which was his favorite part of the sheep, and took a bite, then said: 'I am the master of mankind on the Day of Resurrection.' Then he took another bite and said: 'I am the master of mankind on the Day of Resurrection.' Then he took another bite and said: 'I am the master of mankind on the Day of Resurrection.' When he saw that his companions were not asking him, he said: 'Will you not say: How?' They said: 'How, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'People will stand before the Lord of the Worlds, and the caller will make them all hear, and the sight will penetrate them all. The sun will come close to their heads, and its heat will intensify upon them, and its nearness will be hard on them. They will go out of panic and distress from what they are experiencing, and they will come to Adam and say: O Adam, you are the father of mankind. Allah created you with His Hand and commanded the angels to prostrate to you. Intercede for us with your Lord. Do you not see the evil we are in? Adam will say: My Lord has become angry today with an anger the like of which He has never been angry before, nor will He be angry after with its like. He had commanded me with a command and I disobeyed Him. I fear He will throw me into the Fire. Go to someone else. Myself, myself...'
