أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْعَطَّارُ بِالْبَصْرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ أَنَّ فَتًى مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ أَتَى أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ إِنَّكَ تُكْثِرُ الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَهَلْ سَمِعْتَهُ يَقُولُ فِي حُلَّتِي هَذِهِ؟ فَقَالَ لَوْلَا مَا أَخَذَ اللَّهُ عَلَيَّ فِي الْكِتَابِ مَا حَدَّثْتُكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ سَمِعْتُهُ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ رَجُلًا مِمَّنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ يَتَبَخْتَرُ إِذْ أَعْجَبَتْهُ جُمَّتُهُ وَبُرْدَاهُ فَخَسَفَ اللَّهُ بِهِ الْأَرْضَ فَهُوَ يَتَجَلْجَلُ فِيهَا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ»
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Sulayman ibn al-Hasan ibn Yazid al-Attar in Basra informed us, Hudba ibn Khalid narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salama narrated to us, from Thabit, from Abu Rafi' that a young man from Quraysh came to Abu Hurayra and said: O Abu Hurayra, you narrate many hadiths from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). Did you hear him say anything about my suit? He said: Were it not for what Allah has taken upon me in the Book, I would not narrate anything to you. I heard him (peace be upon him) saying: 'Indeed, a man from those before you was strutting when his hair and two cloaks amazed him, so Allah caused the earth to swallow him, and he will be sinking in it until the Day of Resurrection.'
