Ahmad bin Ali bin Al-Muthanna narrated to us, saying: Abdul-Wahid bin Ghiyath narrated to us, saying: Hammad bin Salamah narrated to us from Hisham bin Urwah from Urwah bin Al-Zubair, who said: I heard Abu Humaid Al-Sa'idi saying: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) appointed Ibn Al-Lutbiyyah to collect charity. When he came, the Prophet (peace be upon him) audited him, and he said: This is for you, and this is a gift that was given to me. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Why didn't you sit in your father's and mother's house until your gift came to you?" When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) prayed Zuhr, he stood up and gave a sermon. He praised Allah and glorified Him, then said: "As for what follows, what is the matter with people whom we appoint to affairs from what Allah has appointed us, and we employ them in matters from what Allah has appointed me, then one of them comes and says: This is for you, and this was given to me as a gift. Why didn't he sit in his father's and mother's house until his gift came to him? By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, none of you takes anything without its right except that he will come on the Day of Resurrection carrying it on his shoulder. So let me not know of a man carrying on his neck on the Day of Resurrection a camel with its bellowing, or a cow with its lowing, or a sheep with its bleating." Then he raised his hands until I saw the whiteness of his armpits with my own eyes and heard with my own ears. Then he said: "Have I conveyed this?" three times. The witness to that was Zaid bin Thabit Al-Ansari, whose shoulder rubbed against my shoulder.
