Hadrat Abdullah bin Zaid bin Asim (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates that when Allah granted His Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) war booty on the day of Hunain, he distributed it among those whose hearts were being reconciled to Islam but did not give anything to the Ansar. They seemed displeased that they did not receive what others received. The Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) then addressed them: 'O assembly of Ansar! Did I not find you astray, and Allah guided you through me? You were divided, and Allah united you through me? You were in need, and Allah enriched you through me?' Each time the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated something, they submitted, 'Allah and His Messenger have more favour upon us.' He declared, 'What prevents you from answering the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)?' Each time he said something, they submitted, 'Allah and His Messenger have more favour upon us.' He declared, 'If you wished, you could have said: You came to us in such-and-such a state. Are you not content that people take sheep and camels while you take the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) to your homes? Were it not for the migration, I would have been a man of the Ansar. If the people took one valley and pass, I would take the valley and pass of the Ansar. The Ansar are the inner garment and the people are the outer garment. You will soon see others favoured over you, so be patient until you meet me at the Pond.'
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت عبداللہ بن زید بن عاصم رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ جب اللہ تعالیٰ نے حنین کے دن اپنے رسول صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو مالِ غنیمت عطا فرمایا تو آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے مؤلفۃ القلوب میں تقسیم فرمایا اور انصار کو کچھ نہیں دیا۔ جیسے انہیں بُرا لگا کہ جو دوسروں کو ملا وہ انہیں نہیں ملا۔ حضور صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے انہیں خطبہ ارشاد فرمایا: اے گروہ انصار! کیا میں نے تمہیں گمراہ نہیں پایا تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے میرے ذریعے تمہیں ہدایت عطا فرمائی؟ تم متفرق تھے تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے میرے ذریعے تمہیں جوڑا؟ تم محتاج تھے تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے میرے ذریعے تمہیں غنی کیا؟ جب بھی حضور صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کوئی بات فرماتے تو وہ عرض کرتے: اللہ اور اس کے رسول کا احسان زیادہ ہے۔ ارشاد فرمایا: تمہیں کیا چیز روکتی ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو جواب دو؟ جب بھی کوئی بات فرماتے تو عرض کرتے: اللہ اور اس کے رسول کا احسان زیادہ ہے۔ ارشاد فرمایا: اگر تم چاہتے تو کہہ سکتے تھے: آپ ہمارے پاس ایسے ایسے حال میں آئے تھے۔ کیا تم اس بات پر راضی نہیں کہ لوگ بکریاں اور اونٹ لے کر جائیں اور تم نبی صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو اپنے گھروں میں لے جاؤ؟ اگر ہجرت نہ ہوتی تو میں انصار میں سے ایک شخص ہوتا۔ اگر لوگ کسی وادی اور گھاٹی میں چلیں تو میں انصار کی وادی اور گھاٹی میں چلوں گا۔ انصار شعار ہیں اور باقی لوگ دثار۔ تم میرے بعد عنقریب ترجیح دیکھو گے تو صبر کرنا یہاں تک کہ حوض پر مجھ سے ملو۔
