It is narrated by Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) who states: My uncle Hadrat Anas bin al-Nadr (may Allah be well pleased with him) was absent from the Battle of Badr. He submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! I was absent from your first battle against the polytheists. If Allah grants me the opportunity to fight the polytheists, Allah will surely see what I shall do. When the day of the Battle of Uhud came and the Muslims were driven back, he said: O Allah! I seek Your pardon for what these (companions of mine) have done, and I dissociate myself before You from what these (polytheists) have done. Then he advanced forward, and Hadrat Sa'd bin Mu'adh (may Allah be well pleased with him) met him. He said: O Sa'd bin Mu'adh! Paradise! By the Lord of al-Nadr! I perceive its fragrance from this side of Uhud. Hadrat Sa'd (may Allah be well pleased with him) later submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), I was unable to do what he did. Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) states: We found on his body more than eighty wounds — from swords, spears, or arrows. We found him martyred, and the polytheists had mutilated him; no one recognised him except his sister, who identified him by his fingertips. Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) states: We used to believe, or we supposed, that this verse was revealed concerning him and those like him: {Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah} — to the end of the verse. And he said: His sister, called al-Rubayyi', had broken the front tooth of a woman, so the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) ordered retaliation. Hadrat Anas (bin al-Nadr, may Allah be well pleased with him) submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! By Him Who sent you with the truth, her tooth shall not be broken. Then the other party accepted blood-money and dropped the retaliation. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Indeed, among the servants of Allah are those who, if they were to swear an oath by Allah, Allah would certainly fulfil it for them."
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے، فرماتے ہیں کہ میرے چچا حضرت انس بن نضر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ غزوۂ بدر میں شریک نہ ہو سکے تھے۔ انہوں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! مشرکین سے آپ کی پہلی جنگ میں، میں حاضر نہ ہو سکا۔ اگر اللہ تعالیٰ نے مجھے مشرکین سے جنگ کا موقع دیا تو اللہ ضرور دیکھے گا کہ میں کیا کرتا ہوں۔ جب غزوۂ احد کا دن آیا اور مسلمان پسپا ہونے لگے تو انہوں نے کہا: اے اللہ! ان (اپنے ساتھیوں) نے جو کچھ کیا، میں اس سے تیرے حضور معذرت چاہتا ہوں، اور ان (مشرکین) نے جو کچھ کیا میں اس سے بیزاری کا اظہار کرتا ہوں۔ پھر آگے بڑھے تو حضرت سعد بن حضرت معاذ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سامنے آئے۔ انہوں نے فرمایا: اے سعد بن حضرت معاذ! جنت چاہیے! نضر کے رب کی قسم! میں اُحد کی طرف سے جنت کی خوشبو پا رہا ہوں۔ حضرت سعد رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے (بعد میں) عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! جو کچھ انہوں نے کیا، میں اس کی طاقت نہ رکھ سکا۔ حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں: ہم نے ان کے جسم پر اسّی سے زیادہ زخم پائے، تلوار کے، یا نیزے کے، یا تیر کے۔ ہم نے انہیں شہید پایا اور مشرکین نے ان کا مُثلہ کر دیا تھا، کسی نے انہیں پہچانا نہیں، سوائے ان کی بہن کے جنہوں نے انہیں ان کی انگلیوں کے پوروں سے پہچانا۔ حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں: ہم سمجھتے تھے یا ہمارا گمان تھا کہ یہ آیت انہی کے بارے میں اور ان جیسے لوگوں کے بارے میں نازل ہوئی: {مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ} آخر آیت تک۔ اور فرمایا: ان کی بہن جن کا نام ربیّع تھا، انہوں نے ایک عورت کا دانت توڑ دیا تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے قصاص کا حکم فرمایا۔ حضرت انس (بن نضر) رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آپ کو حق کے ساتھ بھیجا ہے، ان کا دانت نہیں توڑا جائے گا۔ پھر مقابل فریق دیت پر راضی ہو گئے اور قصاص چھوڑ دیا۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: "اللہ کے بعض بندے ایسے ہیں کہ اگر وہ اللہ پر قسم کھا لیں تو اللہ ضرور ان کی قسم پوری فرماتا ہے۔"
