Narrated by Hadrat Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both): Hadrat ' Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be well pleased with him) acquired a piece of land in Khaybar. He went to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) to consult him about it. He submitted: 'O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! I have acquired a piece of land in Khaybar; I have never obtained property more precious to me than this. What do you command me regarding it?' He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'If you wish, you may keep its original property and give its produce in charity.' So Hadrat 'Umar (may Allah be well pleased with him) gave it in charity on the condition that it should not be sold, nor gifted, nor inherited. He gave its produce in charity among the poor, the relatives, for freeing slaves, in the cause of Allah, for travelers, and for guests. There is no sin upon its custodian if he eats from it in a reasonable manner and feeds others, provided he does not accumulate wealth from it. He stated: I narrated this to Ibn Sirin, and he said: 'meaning he should not amass wealth from it.'
الترجمة الأردية
ہم سے قتیبہ بن سعید نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے محمد بن عبداللہ انصاری نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابن عون نے بیان کیا، کہا مجھے نافع نے خبر دی، حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے کہ حضرت عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو خیبر میں ایک زمین ملی تو وہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت اقدس میں حاضر ہوئے اور اس بارے میں مشورہ لیا۔ عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! مجھے خیبر میں ایک زمین ملی ہے، مجھے آج تک اس سے بہتر مال نہیں ملا، آپ کیا حکم فرماتے ہیں؟ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: اگر چاہو تو اس کی اصل روکے رکھو اور اس سے صدقہ کرو۔ فرمایا: حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے اس شرط پر صدقہ کیا کہ وہ نہ بیچی جائے، نہ ہبہ کی جائے اور نہ وراثت میں آئے۔ اور اس سے فقراء، قرابتداروں، غلاموں کی آزادی، اللہ تعالیٰ کی راہ، مسافروں اور مہمانوں میں صدقہ کیا۔ اس کے والی (منتظم) کو اس میں سے معروف طریقے سے کھانے اور کھلانے میں کوئی حرج نہیں، بشرطیکہ مال جمع نہ کرے۔ فرمایا: میں نے ابن سیرین سے یہ بیان کیا تو انہوں نے فرمایا: یعنی مال اکٹھا نہ کرے۔
