Hadrat Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrates: I came to the pure wife of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Aisha al-Siddiqa (may Allah be well pleased with her), at the time of the solar eclipse. People were standing in prayer, and she too was standing in prayer. I asked: What has happened to the people? She gestured with her hand toward the sky and said: Subhan-Allah (Glory be to Allah). I asked: Is this a sign? She indicated: Yes. So I stood for the prayer until I was about to faint, and I began pouring water over my head. When the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) finished the prayer, he praised and glorified Allah the Exalted, then said: There is nothing that I had not seen before but I have now seen in this very place — even Paradise and Hell. It has been revealed to me that you will be tested in your graves with a trial like that of the Dajjal, or close to it — Asma said she did not remember which word was used. Each one of you will be approached and asked: What is your knowledge of this man? The believer — or the one with firm conviction (Asma did not remember which word) — will say: He is Muhammad, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He came to us with clear proofs and guidance. We accepted, believed, and followed him. It will be said to him: Sleep in peace, O righteous one! We knew that you were indeed a believer. As for the hypocrite — or the doubter (Asma did not remember which word) — he will say: I do not know. I heard people saying something, so I said the same.
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت اسماء بنت ابی بکر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتی ہیں: میں نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی زوجہ مطہرہ حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا کے پاس آئی — اس وقت سورج کو گہن لگا ہوا تھا — لوگ کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھ رہے تھے اور وہ بھی کھڑی نماز پڑھ رہی تھیں۔ میں نے پوچھا: لوگوں کو کیا ہوا ہے؟ انہوں نے آسمان کی طرف ہاتھ سے اشارہ کیا اور فرمایا: سبحان اللہ! میں نے پوچھا: (کیا یہ کوئی) نشانی ہے؟ انہوں نے اشارے سے فرمایا: ہاں۔ میں بھی نماز کے لیے کھڑی ہو گئی، یہاں تک کہ مجھ پر غشی طاری ہونے لگی اور میں اپنے سر پر پانی ڈالنے لگی۔ جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نماز سے فارغ ہوئے تو اللہ تعالیٰ کی حمد و ثناء بیان فرمائی، پھر ارشاد فرمایا: آج کوئی چیز ایسی نہیں رہی جو میں نے اپنی اس جگہ کھڑے ہو کر نہ دیکھ لی ہو — حتیٰ کہ جنت اور دوزخ بھی۔ اور مجھ پر وحی کی گئی ہے کہ تم قبروں میں آزمائے جاؤ گے، دجال کے فتنے جیسی آزمائش — یا اس کے قریب۔ اسماء فرماتی ہیں: مجھے یاد نہیں کون سا لفظ تھا۔ تم میں سے ہر ایک کے پاس (فرشتے) آئیں گے اور پوچھا جائے گا: اس شخص کے بارے میں تمہارا کیا علم ہے؟ مومن — یا یقین رکھنے والا، اسماء کو یاد نہیں کون سا لفظ تھا — کہے گا: وہ محمد (صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ہیں، اللہ کے رسول ہیں، ہمارے پاس نشانیاں اور ہدایت لے کر آئے، ہم نے قبول کیا، ایمان لائے اور اتباع کی۔ اس سے کہا جائے گا: سو جا صالح بندے! ہم جانتے تھے کہ تو مومن ہے۔ اور منافق — یا شک رکھنے والا، اسماء کو یاد نہیں کون سا لفظ تھا — کہے گا: میں نہیں جانتا، لوگوں کو جو کہتے سنا میں نے بھی وہی کہہ دیا۔
