Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us from al-Mukhtar ibn Fulful from Anas ibn Malik from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) who said: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: «There are three to whom Allah will not speak on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them, and they shall have a painful punishment: a man who has surplus water in the desert and withholds it from the wayfarer, a man who pledges allegiance to a leader only for worldly gain -- if the leader gives him what he wants, he is loyal, and if not, he is not, and a man who sells his goods after the Asr prayer, swearing by Allah that he was offered such-and-such for them when he was not.» We do not know this hadith narrated from Anas from Abu Hurairah except from the hadith of al-Mukhtar ibn Fulful.
