حَدَّثنا محمد بن عُمَر بن علي حَدَّثنا سعيد بن عامر حَدَّثنا شُعْبَةُ عَن قَتادة وَأَبِي التَّيَّاحِ عَن أَنَسٍ قَالَ إِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم لَيُلاطِفُنَا حَتَّى إِنْ كَانَ لَيَقُولُ لأَخٍ لِي صَغِيرٍ أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ مَا فَعَلَ النغير اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم لَيُلاطِفُنَا حَتَّى إِنْ كَانَ لَيَقُولُ لأَخٍ لِي صَغِيرٍ أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ مَا فَعَلَ النغير

Muhammad ibn 'Umar ibn 'Ali narrated to us: Sa'id ibn 'Amir narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated to us from Qatadah and Abu al-Tayyah from Anas who said: Indeed the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to be gentle with us, to the point that he would say to a younger brother of mine: «O Abu 'Umayr, what happened to the little bird?»
