الترجمة الإنجليزية
Muhammad ibn Salih ibn al-'Awwam narrated to us, he said: Ibrahim ibn Sulayman al-Dabbas informed us, he said: Abu Sa'id informed us, from Muhajir Abu Habib, from Abu al-Malih, from his father (may Allah be pleased with him), that a man said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I enter the prayer and I do not know whether I end on an even number of rak'ahs or an odd number, because of my poor memory.' He said: 'When you experience that, place your index finger on your left thigh, for it (the confusion) is from Satan.' We do not know this hadith to be narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) except through this route with this chain. Abu Sa'id is al-Hasan ibn Dinar, and Muhajir Abu Habib is from Basra, and neither of them is strong in hadith, but we mentioned this because we do not know it except through this route.
