Abu Bakr ibn al-Hasan al-Qadi informed us, Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, Abu Yahya Zakariyya ibn Yahya al-Marwazi narrated to us, Sufyan ibn Uyaynah narrated to us from al-Zuhri from Anas ibn Malik who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) fell from a horse and his right side was scraped. We entered upon him to visit him, and the time of prayer came, so he prayed sitting and we prayed sitting. When he finished the prayer, he said: 'The imam is appointed to be followed. When he says takbir, say takbir. When he bows, bow. When he raises his head, raise yours. When he says: Allah hears the one who praises Him, say: Our Lord, to You belongs the praise. When he prostrates, prostrate. And if he prays sitting, then all of you pray sitting.'
