أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا الْحَسَنُ هُوَ ابْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَفَّانَ ثنا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ يَعْنِي الْجُعْفِيَّ عَنْ زَائِدَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ يَعْنِي الْهَجَرِيَّ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ أَحْسَنَ الصَّلَاةَ حَيْثُ يَرَاهُ النَّاسُ وَأَسَاءَهَا حَيْثُ يَخْلُو فَتِلْكَ اسْتِهَانَةٌ يَسْتَهِينُ بِهَا رَبَّهُ

Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, al-Hasan — he is ibn Ali ibn Affan — narrated to us, Husayn ibn Ali — meaning al-Ju'fi — narrated to us from Za'idah from Ibrahim — meaning al-Hajari — from Abu al-Ahwas from Abdullah from the Prophet (peace be upon him) who said: 'Whoever perfects his prayer where people can see him but makes it poor when alone — that is contempt by which he treats his Lord with contempt.'
