أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ السَّلَامِ الْوَرَّاقُ وَجَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَا ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ؓ يَقُولُ بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَعْثًا وَأَمَّرَ عَلَيْهِمْ أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ فَطَعَنَ النَّاسُ فِي إِمْرَتِهِ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنْ تَطْعَنُوا فِي إِمْرَتِهِ فَقَدْ كُن��تُمْ تَطْعَنُونَ فِي إِمْرَةِ أَبِيهِ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَايْمُ اللهِ إِنْ كَانَ لَخَلِيقًا لِلْإِمَارَةِ وَإِنْ كَانَ لَمِنْ أَحَبِّ النَّاسِ إِلِيَّ وَإِنَّ هَذَا مِنْ أَحَبِّ النَّاسِ إِلِيَّ بَعْدَهُ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) dispatched an expedition and appointed Usamah ibn Zayd as their commander. People criticized his appointment. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and said: If you criticize his appointment, you used to criticize the appointment of his father before him. By Allah (wa aym Allah), he was truly worthy of command, and he was among the most beloved people to me, and this one is among the most beloved people to me after him.
