قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَجْتَمِعُ دِينَانِ فِي جَزِيرَةِ الْعَرَبِ قَالَ مَالِكٌ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ فَفَحَصَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ حَتَّى أَتَاهُ الثَّلَجُ وَالْيَقِينُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لَا يَجْتَمِعُ دِينَانِ فِي جَزِيرَةِ الْعَرَبِ فَأَجْلَى يَهُودَ خَيْبَرَ قَالَ مَالِكٌ قَدْ أَجْلَى عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ يَهُودَ نَجْرَانَ وَفَدَكَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَجْتَمِعُ دِينَانِ فِي جَزِيرَةِ الْعَرَبِ قَالَ مَالِكٌ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ فَفَحَصَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ حَتَّى أَتَاهُ الثَّلَجُ وَالْيَقِينُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لَا يَجْتَمِعُ دِينَانِ فِي جَزِيرَةِ الْعَرَبِ فَأَجْلَى يَهُودَ خَيْبَرَ قَالَ مَالِكٌ قَدْ أَجْلَى عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ يَهُودَ نَجْرَانَ وَفَدَكَ

He said: Malik narrated to us from Ibn Shihab, that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Two religions shall not coexist in the Arabian Peninsula." Malik said: Ibn Shihab said: 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) investigated this until certainty came to him from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) that he said: "Two religions shall not coexist in the Arabian Peninsula." So he expelled the Jews of Khaybar. Malik said: 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) also expelled the Jews of Najran and Fadak because the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Two religions shall not coexist in the Arabian Peninsula."
