الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abu 'Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami informed us, Abu al-Hasan Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Karizi narrated to us, 'Ali ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz informed us from Abu 'Ubayd, who said: Ibn Mahdi narrated to us from Hammad ibn Salamah, from 'Ubaydullah ibn Rawahah, Masruq narrated to me that a man from the non-Arabs (al-Shu'ub) embraced Islam, but the jizya was still being collected from him. So he went to 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and informed him. 'Umar wrote that the jizya should not be collected from him. Abu 'Ubayd said: "Al-Shu'ub here means the non-Arabs."
