Abu Nasr ibn Qatadah informed us with his chain from Sa'id ibn Jubayr from Ibn Abbas: Some people say this verse has been abrogated - 'And when those who are present at the distribution, relatives and orphans and the needy, provide for them from it' (Quran 4:8). No, by Allah, it was not abrogated, but people have neglected it. There are two types of executors: one who inherits - he is the one who provides; and one who does not inherit - he is the one who says 'kind words,' explaining that it is orphans' property and he has no authority over it.
