الترجمة الإنجليزية
Ya'qub told us: my father told us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, who said: Amr ibn Shu'ayb told me, from his father, from his grandfather Abdullah ibn Amr, that the delegation of Hawazin came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while he was at al-Ji'irranah, having accepted Islam, and said: O Messenger of Allah, we are of noble origin and kinship, and calamity has befallen us in a way not hidden from you, so show us favor as Allah has shown you favor. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Are your sons and your wives dearer to you, or your wealth? They said: O Messenger of Allah, you have given us a choice between our honor and our wealth - rather, let our women and children be returned to us, for that is dearer to us. He said to them: As for what belongs to me and to the sons of Abd al-Muttalib, it is yours. When I have prayed the noon prayer with the people, stand and say: We seek the intercession of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, with the Muslims, and the intercession of the Muslims with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, concerning our sons and our women; then I will give to you at that point and intercede for you. When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had prayed the noon prayer with the people, they stood and spoke as he had instructed them. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: As for what belongs to me and to the sons of Abd al-Muttalib, it is yours. The Emigrants said: And what belongs to us belongs to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. The Ansar said: And what belongs to us belongs to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. Al-Aqra ibn Habis said: As for me and the Banu Tamim, no. Uyaynah ibn Hisn ibn Hudhayfah ibn Badr said: As for me and the Banu Fazarah, no. Abbas ibn Mirdas said: As for me and the Banu Sulaym, no. But the Banu Sulaym said: No, what belongs to us belongs to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. Abbas said: O Banu Sulaym, you have weakened my stand. So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever among you holds firmly to his right in this captive stock, he shall have six shares for every person from the first thing we obtain as spoils. So they returned to the people their sons and their women.
