Waki' narrated to us: al-Mas'udi narrated from Amr ibn Murrah from Abdullah ibn al-Harith al-Muktib from Abu Kathir al-Zubaydi from Abdullah ibn Amr that a man asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): "Which hijrah (emigration) is best?" He said: "That you abandon what your Lord dislikes. And there are two types of hijrah: the hijrah of the settled and the hijrah of the Bedouin. As for the hijrah of the Bedouin, he obeys when commanded and responds when called. As for the hijrah of the settled, it is the more severe in trial and greater in reward."
