حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ أَعْطَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ جَارِيَةً مِنْ سَبْيِ هَوَازِنَ فَوَهَبَهَا لِي فَبَعَثْتُ بِهَا إِلَى أَخْوَالِي مِنْ بَنِي جُمَحٍ لِيُصْلِحُوا لِي مِنْهَا حَتَّى أَطُوفَ بِالْبَيْتِ ثُمَّ أَاتِيَهُمْ وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُصِيبَهَا إِذَا رَجَعْتُ إِلَيْهَا قَالَ فَخَرَجْتُ مِنْ الْمَسْجِدِ حِينَ فَرَغْتُ فَإِذَا النَّاسُ يَشْتَدُّونَ فَقُلْتُ مَا شَأْنُكُمْ قَالُوا رَدَّ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبْنَاءَنَا وَنِسَاءَنَا قَالَ قُلْتُ تِلْكَ صَاحِبَتُكُمْ فِي بَنِي جُمَحٍ فَاذْهَبُوا فَخُذُوهَا فَذَهَبُوا فَأَخَذُوهَا.

Ya'qub narrated to us: my father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq: Nafi', freedman of Abdullah ibn Umar, narrated to me, from Abdullah ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, gave Umar ibn al-Khattab a slave girl from the captives of Hawazin, and he gave her to me as a gift. I sent her to my maternal uncles among Banu Jumah so that they might prepare her for me, until I could perform the tawaf of the House and then come to them, intending to have relations with her when I returned to her. So I left the mosque when I had finished, and found the people running about, and I said, "What is the matter with you?" They said: "The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, has returned to us our sons and our women." I said: "There is your companion among Banu Jumah, so go and take her." So they went and took her.
