Abdullah told us: My father told me another time: Abd al-Wahhab al-Khaffaf told us, from Ibn Awn, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar, who said: I met Ibn Sayyad twice. The first time I met him, his companions were with him - and he mentioned the hadith - he said: And he brayed like the harshest braying of a donkey I have ever heard. He said: My companions claimed that I struck him with a stick I had until it broke, but as for me, I was not aware of that. So I went in to my sister Hafsah, Mother of the Believers, and told her of that, and she said, "What did you want with him? Do you not know that he said: His first appearance before the people will be because of a fit of anger that seizes him?"
